GENERAL QUESTIONS

What is the Philanthropy Platform for TCS World 10K Bengaluru?

The Philanthropy Platform enables NGOs, individual fundraisers, corporates, and runners to come together to raise funds for social causes through the TCS World 10K Bengaluru. It provides a structured, transparent, and secure way to run for a cause and create impact.

What is UWBe's role as the Philanthropy Partner?

United Way Bengaluru (UWBe) serves as the Philanthropy Partner, responsible for:

  • Onboarding and due diligence of NGOs
  • Managing the fundraising portal
  • Ensuring transparent donation flow and reporting
  • Supporting NGOs and fundraisers with capacity-building and guidance

UWBe does not fundraise on behalf of NGOs — it enables them to do so effectively.

Who can participate on this platform?

The platform is open to:

  • Verified NGOs
  • Individual fundraisers and runners
  • Donors
  • Corporate organizations and employee groups
  • Institutions & Community groups

Each stakeholder has a defined role in the fundraising ecosystem.

When does fundraising begin and end?

Fundraising typically begins after NGO onboarding and continues until the published closing date (9 May 2026).

Where can I get more information on the race?

More information on the race is available at the Procam's website – https://tcsworld10k.procam.in/.

FOR NGOs

Who can register as an NGO?

Registered NGOs that meet statutory, compliance, and governance requirements can apply to participate. All NGOs undergo a due diligence process before onboarding.

Does UWBe raise funds for NGOs?

No. NGOs retain ownership of their fundraising campaigns. UWBe provides the platform, systems, guidance, and visibility to help NGOs reach donors more effectively.

How do NGOs raise funds through the event?

NGOs can raise funds by:

  • Creating fundraising campaigns on the portal
  • Engaging individual fundraisers and running groups
  • Using Charity Bibs allocated to them
  • Partnering with corporates and employee groups

What are Charity Bibs?

Charity Bibs are reserved running slots across race categories set aside for fundraising. These bibs are allocated to NGOs, who may offer them to supporters interested in running for a cause. Runners using Charity Bibs receive guaranteed entry even after general registrations close, subject to event rules.

Is there a minimum donation for Charity Bibs?

Yes. UWBe defines a minimum donation amount per race category to ensure fairness across NGOs. NGOs may encourage donors to contribute higher amounts based on their fundraising goals.

When and how do NGOs receive funds?

Funds raised are disbursed to NGOs within 15 days, following reconciliation and verification by the philanthropy partner. NGOs receive detailed reports outlining donations received and donor details, as per data-sharing norms.

FOR INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISERS & RUNNERS

What does it mean to "run for a cause"?

Running for a cause means you raise funds for an NGO or social issue while participating in the TCS World 10K. Your run becomes a way to create social impact.

Do I need to be an experienced runner to fundraise?

No. Fundraisers include first-time runners, seasoned athletes, students, and fitness enthusiasts. What matters most is your commitment to the cause.

How do I register as a fundraiser?

You can register on the Philanthropy Platform, choose a cause or NGO, create a fundraising page, and start inviting your network to support you.

Will I receive recognition for fundraising?

Yes. Fundraisers are acknowledged through a Recognition Framework based on milestones achieved. Recognition may include digital features, certificates, event-day mentions, and special privileges.

Is my entry guaranteed if I fundraise?

Runners using Charity Bibs are guaranteed entry even after general registrations close, provided they meet event eligibility criteria and minimum donation requirements.

Can I fundraise even if I'm not running the event?

Yes. You do not need to participate in the run to be an Individual Fundraiser. Anyone who is passionate about supporting a cause and willing to engage their network can raise funds through the platform.

Is there any fee to create a fundraising page?

No. Creating and maintaining a fundraising page on the platform is completely free for individual fundraisers.

Can I fundraise for more than one NGO?

Yes, in some cases individuals may support more than one NGO on the platform. This should be done with clear communication and mutual agreement with the concerned NGOs regarding promotion and fund allocation.

Some of my donors are based outside India. Can they donate?

Foreign donations can be accepted only if the NGO holds a valid FCRA registration. In such cases, donations must be made directly to the NGO through its FCRA-compliant channels.

To ensure your fundraising total reflects this contribution, donors or NGOs may share transaction details with UWBe for acknowledgment purposes.

Note: UWBe administrative deductions do not apply to FCRA donations.

FOR YOUNG FUNDRAISERS (CHILDREN & STUDENTS)

Is there a minimum age to become a fundraiser?

There is no strict minimum age to fundraise. Children and students can participate as fundraisers with parental or guardian support. Several young fundraisers have successfully mobilized significant support in the past.

Can children or students also participate in the run?

Yes, provided they meet the minimum age criteria specified by Procam for the selected race category.

Can fundraising be counted toward school or college social service requirements?

This depends on individual institutional policies. However, fundraising for social causes is widely recognized as a meaningful form of community engagement and social responsibility.

I don't have a PAN card. How do I complete registration?

If a PAN number is mandatory and you do not have one (e.g., for minors), a placeholder value may be used to complete profile registration. Further guidance will be provided during onboarding if required.

FOR CORPORATES

How can corporates participate?

Corporates can participate by:

  • Encouraging employees to run and fundraise
  • Supporting NGOs aligned with their CSR focus
  • Offering matching grants
  • Sponsoring causes or fundraising campaigns

How does this align with CSR objectives?

The platform offers a structured, measurable, and employee-engaging CSR opportunity aligned with SDGs, wellness, and community impact.

Will corporates receive impact reports?

Yes. Corporates receive consolidated reports highlighting funds raised, participation, and impact outcomes supported through the platform.

Is Corporate participation different from employees registering individually?

Yes. Corporate participation enables structured engagement with NGOs, consolidated reporting, recognition, and alignment with CSR objectives. Individual employee registrations do not provide the same level of NGO partnership or CSR visibility.

Can the administrative fee retained by UWBe be counted under CSR?

The administrative fee retained by UWBe supports due diligence, platform management, reporting, and compliance.

Whether this portion qualifies as CSR depends on your company's internal CSR policy and statutory interpretation. We recommend consulting your CSR or legal team for confirmation.

Is the runner registration fee included in the donation amount?

No. The donation amount supports the NGO and the philanthropy platform. Runner registration fees are paid separately to Procam based on the selected race category.

Can an NGO pay runner registration fees from the donation amount?

No. Donations raised are meant to support the NGO's charitable programs and cannot be used to pay race registration fees.

How is CSR impact reported if part of the donation goes toward platform administration?

CSR impact reporting will focus on:

  • Total funds raised for NGOs
  • Causes supported
  • Participation metrics (employees, teams, fundraisers)

The administrative component supports governance and transparency and is reported separately for clarity.

Our CSR budget for FY 2025–26 is exhausted. Can we still participate?

Yes. Companies may participate in the event and choose to make CSR contributions in the next financial year (FY 2026–27), provided donations are completed before the stipulated fundraising close date of May 9th, 2026.

Our company does not fall under mandatory CSR. Can we still participate?

Yes. Companies without a CSR mandate are welcome to participate through voluntary contributions, employee engagement initiatives, or Corporate Care participation.

We have limited CSR funds but many employees want to run. How does this work?

Participation in the run and CSR donation amounts are independent. Employees may register individually for the run, while the company may choose to support an NGO within its CSR budget to the extent possible. Fundraising is encouraged but not mandatory.

FOR INSTITUTIONS & COMMUNITY GROUPS

Why should institutions or community groups fundraise instead of only registering runners?

Fundraising as a group enables you to:

  • Create measurable social impact
  • Foster collective responsibility and pride
  • Build stronger engagement among members
  • Gain recognition for supporting a cause

It transforms participation into purpose.

CHARITY BIBS

How do I get a Charity Bib?

  • Connect with a participating NGO
  • Commit to the minimum donation amount for your chosen race category
  • Coordinate with the NGO for bib allocation and next steps

Why should I choose a Charity Bib?

  • You directly support a cause you care about
  • You receive guaranteed race entry, even after general registrations close
  • In certain categories, timing qualification criteria may be relaxed, subject to event rules

FOR DONORS

Is my donation secure?

Yes. All donations are processed through a secure payment gateway and managed transparently through UWBe's systems.

Will I receive a receipt?

Yes. Donation receipts are issued electronically and may be used for tax purposes, subject to applicable laws.

Can I choose which NGO or cause to support?

Yes. Donors may support a specific NGO, fundraiser, or cause listed on the platform.
